New Saddle

Hope all is well in your part of the country.  It has been a bit wet around here but we never complain about to much rain.  We were really hurting for some this time last year so we are thankful for what we get.  Just to let you know we have a nice roughout Wade available for those of you on the hunt.

The saddle is sure to provide years of good service.

Specs:

15-1/2" Seat

4" Tall X 12" Wide Cantle w/Straight Up Bead

7/8 Position Flat Plate Rig

90 Degree Bars

3-1/4" Tall X 4-1/4" Wide Horn

Cross Over Rope Strap

Stainless Steel Hardware

Wrapped and Turned Stirrup Leathers

4" Monel Stirrups

100% Mohair Cinch

Latigos on both sides

Notice the clean hidden stitch on the cantle binding.

Notice the hidden stitch on the back side of the cantle binding.  I think it makes a really good finish to the nice clean lines on this saddle.

Mar. 1- Alpine, Tx

It's been a while since the last post but hello to all anyway. Just got back from the Trappings of Texas show in Alpine, Tx. What a great time we had. If you haven't been down I suggest you load up and go next year. This was my first year and I intend on going from now on. The show is held in conjunction with the Texas Cowboy Poetry Gathering on the campus of Sul Ross University, needless to say there are lots of things for one to see and do.

Looking North towards Alpine

I have to apologize for not having a lot more pictures to post. That is something I need to work on, when I go someplace I always seem to forget I do own a camara and it is usually with me.

The chance for me to be around that many other craftsmen doesn't come along very often, so I was delighted to be there. I would like to send out my greatest thanks and appreciation to all the saddlemakers, bit & spur makers, silversmiths, rawhide braiders and artists that were so willing and open to the sharing of ideas. Those are the times when we all become better at our craft which then brings the public a better product.

On our way home we left out through FT. Davis to see some different country. I was really suprised to see how diverse the Texas landscape is. It's amazing to me how God has made the country so much different in less than a days drive. To me the landscape change and variety are proof that God does exist. Things seem to be placed in the perfect spot. Hills over there, valleys over here and so on. No random act of chance could have done that.

Leaving FT. Davis

Well until next time may the sun be on your face and the wind at your back.

Jan. 21-Happy New Year!!

Well hello to everyone out there.  I hope this new year finds you well and excited about what's in store for us throughout it.  Things have been a bit difficult around here since Christmas.  My mother passed away a couple of days after and left us all struggling to enjoy the season.  After all the arrangements were made and the service itself I checked out for a couple of weeks.  Thanks to the love and commitment of my faithful wife I am back to some normalcy.  I thank God everyday that He has blessed me with such a woman.  I clearly got the better end of the deal when we got together.  I don't want to leave out the rest of my family, they have all been there for me and each other throughout this trying time.  We can now rejoice that mom no longer has to struggle and battle her way through this life, God promises that He will never leave us or forsake us.  Jesus also tells us in John 10:28-30 that those the Father places in His hands have eternal life and no one can snatch them away from Him.  We have found great comfort in this.  In her memory I would like to share something she wrote years ago.

 My Prayer

Shout is what I want to do,

The Lord called me, yes me so unprepared,

so unexperienced.

God! please make me humble, so humble.

Be with me always.

I want to do great things for you,

but only through you can I do great things.

Use me Lord, in anyway you see fit.

I feel as though I'm going somewhere,

but Lord I don't know where,

but I don't care as long as you send me there.

Let me share the love, joy, happiness, and

excitement of a Christian Life as having you

as head of my life.

So many Lord are waiting--I'll hurry Lord.

I want to help them all.

And of coarse tell them you're the One who helped me.

So Lord send me on my way of the Great Life.

I know I don't deserve you you,

but Lord you'll have to put up with me.

Humble me Lord!

Here am I -- Send Me.

Jan. 10-The First Post

Not to sure what to write about here but I'll give this thing a try.  Things have been a little crazy around here lately.  Just so you know we have a 16" tree in that would make someone a nice saddle.  Not to long of a waiting time for it.  Just give us a call and we could probably get you a saddle built on it within a few weeks.
